It’s February, which means feeling fully settled into a new calendar year, Black History Memes, New England weather is on its worst behavior, and my birthday. I finally got a Massachusetts license this week, after eight(!) years of residence, and took my first new license photo since the Obama Years.

I am thinking about turning 30 next week and how the only significant birthdays after are each new decade, releasing the music I’ve been making and hoarding for years as a fresh start, the importance of sugar and carbs when you really be cycling like that, the idea that Sisyphus enjoyed rolling his boulder up the mountain every day because he got stronger each time and something something about the value of daily rituals, the nuance of celebrating Black American culture while keeping a Pan-Africanist perspective, and the odds of a first-class upgrade on my flight to Atlanta next week.
