Perhaps it’s due to the many hours of my formative years spent on AZLyrics getting official album track lists, going to Limewire and Kazaa to download each song, finding album artwork on Google or making my own when I was dissatisfied with the results, and methodically sequencing and recreating all of the album metadata in iTunes, but I feel hardwired to prefer complete albums to singles and mixed playlists. This weeks frames are, in part, an ode to that. These are covers of the 12 albums that I have, so far, listened to the most in the first half of 2023. Each cover links to my favorite track from the album (or the track I think is the best sampling), so this is, in a way, counterintuitively, a 12-song playlist about how I prefer albums to playlists. They are loosely ordered from new forever favorites to something I’m enjoying right now. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. Give them a listen.
