I often think about how artists of all sorts tend to do “lighter” but more masterful work in their later, more developed years. In consumer arts like music and fashion, people tend to conflate this with laziness, or being basic, or washed, but, as someone creatively preoccupied with creating the greatest effect with the least interference, it’s often my favorite kind of work. Otherwise, this week I am thinking about getting a new laptop, Apple’s Vision Pro and how I’m copping on Day 1, I have a lot of new pants, signing the contract today for a new artist residency and once again Having Ideas and feeling moved to Make Things, traveling to D.C. this weekend, and getting a BMI Royalty check in the mail for $2.11 because my music was used on a reality show and the MLB World Series lmao.
